We happened to be walking through Mito Station when we saw that Mister Donut was holding their special Mister Donut & Pokémon Collaboration 2022. We really enjoyed participating in Mister Donut’s Pokémon Collaboration last year and were looking forward to this year. This time Jigglypuff, Pikachu, and a snowman version of Pikachu took centerstage. Like last time, the collaboration was to hype their new games Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet.

This time the campaign was for one Pokémon face donut, one custard filled donut, and two of their Christmas donuts + our choice of one of the blankets or cup sets. The campaign costed ¥1,450 which included tax. The Pokémon face donuts were going for ¥291, the pudding donuts were ¥194, and the Christmas donuts were ¥172 each with tax included. The total cost of just the donuts came out to ¥829 with tax included. So we were getting the Pokémon merch for ¥621 with tax included. We thought this was a really reasonable price as most Pokémon related goods are marked up considerably. We liked how they displayed them, so we knew exactly what we were getting. There was also a Pokémon kids set, but we weren’t familiar with the new characters, so we decided to pass.
Mister Donut & Pokemon Glasses

The Pokémon goods for this year were two different lap blankets and two different sets of two glass cups. Jigglypuff, Pikachu, and to a lesser degree snowman Pikachu were prominently displayed on both the cups and blankets. We decided to go with only the cups this year. The blanket from last year was nice, but it was a little thin and could probably only used as a lap blanket. We decided to pass on them this year. We really liked the designs of the cups. They were super cute and we’re glad we got both of them.
Mister Donut & Pokemon Donuts

The Pokémon face donuts were similar to last year. Pikachu was a nice cream filled donut with chocolate dipped ears, chocolate candy eyes, and M&M like cheeks. Snowman Pikachu was similar with a dusting of powdered sugar. Our favorites were the pudding donuts. They were a standard ring donut that had rings of cream and pudding on the inside. The combination of the pudding, cream, and donut were delicious. We would definitely recommend. The Christmas donuts were the standard Pon de Ring with either chocolate, strawberry, or white chocolate frosting and sprinkles on top.

Once again the originally designed bag looked great.
We look forward to getting the Mister Donut Lucky Bag this year. We are pretty confident that it will be a Pokémon collaboration as it has been so for the past few years. After last years mishaps we’re going to make a concerted effort to get this years Pokémon Mister Donut Lucky Bag.
Final Thoughts
We’re really happy we were able to participate in this years Mister Donut & Pokémon Collaboration 2022. The glasses were super cute and pretty high quality. We look forward to more Mister Donut & Pokémon collaborations.
More to Come…
