Mister Donut Lucky Bag

Our main focus for this year was to rectify the mistakes we made last year by getting the Mister Donut Lucky Bag. Our Lucky Bag Haul 2023 included the Mister Donut and Starbucks Lucky Bags. The Mister Donut Lucky Bag came out on December 26th and we were able to get it on the 28th. We decided to go for the middle tier which came out to ¥3,600. They also had a lower tier for ¥2,400 and an upper tier for ¥5,900.

The contents came in this cute and surprisingly durable cardboard box that displayed the Pokemon that would be featured on the goods. The art style was super cute. We appreciated how the designers always feature a number of the original Pokemon.

The contents of the box came in this nice sized tote bag. We were really happy with the quality. The contents of the box included a tote bag, clear file, personal planner, wall calendar, hand towel, note pad, and coupon for 30 complimentary donuts.

The retail value of the donuts alone was 30 donuts x ¥187 = ¥5,610 which was over double the cost of the entire box itself. Essentially, we got half of our donuts and a bunch of cool Pokemon Merch for free. The coupon for the donuts expires on May 31st of 2023.

Starbucks Lucky Bag

We entered the raffle again this year for the Starbucks Lucky Bag and were super surprised when we got it. The lucky bag was shipped directly to our home. All the items were placed in this nice sized tote bag. It was pretty big and the outer walls of the bag were pretty thick. The bag contained a number of cute tumblers.

There was also a bag of ground coffee, a coupon for some more ground coffee, a cozy, and six drink tickets. The drink tickets were worth ¥658 with tax included. One nice thing about these tickets was that if the drink was more than ¥658, we would only have to pay the difference. Most of Starbuck’s seasonal drinks were in and around the ¥658 price point. The Starbucks drink tickets expire on June 25th 2023.

The one that go away: Middle to late last year we discovered Hama Sushi, and it instantly became our go to kaiten (revolving) sushi restaurant. We knew they had a lucky bag. However, it went on sale during our crazy 16 day road trip. Along the way we were unable to locate one of their restaurants until it was too late. We’re a little bummed, but we’ll be sure to get it next year.

Final Thoughts

We’re very happy with the Lucky Bag Haul 2023 we got this year. Overall, we did get fewer lucky bags compared to last year. However, the overall quality of the bags were things we really wanted and would use in the new year. We look forward to participating again next year.
