About Ningle Terrace
Ningle Terrace is a collection of local crafts people who produce beautiful and intricate crafts. The terrace is located in the forest area of the Furano region of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island. The complex is located in a fairy tale like forest setting surrounded with pine trees. Individual log “houses” dot the landscape and are connected via a winding wooden walkway. Each of the log “houses” contain one store that sells a unique handmade craft.

Visitors can appreciate the charm of how the log houses and pathways blend perfectly into nature. There is a feeling that the terrace is surrounded and among the pine trees of the forest. Ningle Terrace is located next to the New Furano Prince Hotel. The hotel is popular for skiing in the winter and golf in the spring and summer. Night time provides a completely different view of Ningle Terrace as the lights along the wooden pathways and within the shops shine brightly.

We recommend making an initial pass through all of the shops and noting along the way which ones you are interested in. On the second go around you filter through your curated shop list and decide what goods you are interested in.
Fun Fact: Ningle Terrace was included in the 1980’s TV drama series called Kita No Kuni Kara (From the Northern County) a story about a family navigating life in the Furano area.
Note: Pictures of the shops are not allowed and most of them post signs at their respective entrances.
